I put up a new ceiling in our home’s entry room a few months back.
It was a fun project, I learned a good deal more about basic carpentry, and we are happy with the outcome. Even though I made many mistakes along the way, it was a Bonafide success.

I found myself with all these leftover bits and pieces of stained and sealed tongue and groove pine, and they felt too valuable to just burn. I saved them for a few weeks in a pile in the garage and tried to imagine reusing them in other projects.
I wanted to build a powered glove and boot dryer, so I tried to incorporate the beautiful pine bits into that, but ultimately they didn’t fit and I built it with leftover wood pieces from a shed I pulled down last summer.

I was able to incorporate a couple of the largest pieces into this bedframe, but I still had a bunch of leftovers.

Finally, I am now using them as the little doors for an Advent Calendar.

This project won’t use up all the leftover pieces, so maybe I will get to have yet another project with the little bits of ceiling wood.
Leftovers can be quite enjoyable.
